Our round-up of MEDICA Trade Fair 2022

We were thrilled to have made our long-awaited return trip to MEDICA Trade Fair in Dusseldorf, Germany this year. For over 20 years, we have collaborated with the world’s most exciting names in the healthcare sector at MEDICA to showing our design portfolio and service offering having sadly foregone our annual trips in 2021 and 2020 due to COVID-19 regulations, it was fantastic to be back at last!

Travelling as part of the Welsh Government’s 200-strong contingent were our Director Jarred Evans, and Business Development Manager Anthony McAllister.

“A lot of my time was spent across the 17 halls, engaging with other companies and new potential collaborators, but equally it was great to spend time with previous clients, particularly after 2 years away from the event,” Anthony explains. “We’ve kept connected with everyone virtually over the past couple of years, however it’s never the same as actually seeing each other face-to-face!”

Huntleigh Healthcare with whom we produced the Sonicaid Team 3 and the DMX Doppler, among many others was just one of the friendly faces we were able to catch up with. “We also talked with lots of new potential collaborators too, with great opportunities in the pipeline” Anthony says.

“We work with companies to look at their roadmap of new products and services, so we can help them forge opportunities, or find new ones they had not considered before. That is really a lot of what we are doing at shows like MEDICA, making new links with organisations whom we can genuinely support and work with.”

As always, MEDICA’s halls play host to some incredible innovative technologies and ideas in the world of medicine. “Some interesting ideas we saw were within the ‘wearable technologies’ sector. We are long established in this arena, Brace is perhaps our best-known product here, or The Assure, a revolutionary personal alert system, but exploring the latest ideas and seeing what our peers are currently developing was very interesting,” Anthony explains.

From wearable fertility sensors to blood pressure monitors, we saw a lot of exciting new, innovative products and technologies and we were pleased to connect with new companies from several of the sixty-six countries in attendance.

“There was such a buzz about the place, and people were quite excited to get back to the event and how it used to be [pre-COVID]. There were a lot of conversations, healthy debates, it was busy, and it felt like everyone there was happy to get MEDICA back on track!”

So, will we be there in 2023? Of course!

We would like to say thanks to our 2022 cohort for making the return event as great as ever – we are sure to be back with more updates from new collaborations soon.
